What if a family member is the primary caregiver and just needs a little caregiving help or relief?
Through our respite care services, primary caregivers find relief from stress and help mitigate the chances of getting burned out. The break could be as long as a week vacation or as short as an hour trip to the store to buy some things for your family. You can read more about our respite services by clicking here.
Could I schedule your home care services for a short time?
Of course! Families use our care services for a number of reasons depending on their situation. Ideally we want to help families get back to their normal routines, which in some cases doesn’t involve us. Some short-term home care examples are: We are great with families and new babies; establishing a schedule and allowing new moms and dads some much needed rest. We also help a family member rehabilitate after surgery at their own home by providing household help, meals, transportation to and from therapeutic appointments. In the form of respite care, if you or a family member is the primary caregiver for your loved one, we can assist by stepping in for a short period to allow the primary caregiver a short break or even vacation.
Can you help us in transitioning my loved one into a facility (hospital, assisted living, or nursing home)?
Yes! We help loved ones in whatever living environment (be it a facility or home) they are currently in and also if they are leaving their home for another location. Once your loved one moves into the new facility, we also provide personalized care services to help them get accustomed and comfortable in their new environment. In these situations, we are committed to making the transition as easy as possible for not only your loved one, but your family as well.
How does in-home care differ from home healthcare?
Home Healthcare organizations make brief skilled visits designed to get clients/patients back to a safe living environment. Services include nurse case management, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. We love to be a part of these teams, because we can help families continue exercises and safe practices after prescribed visits are completed.
How do we start?
Give us a call at 816-531-2210 for an initial brief conversation covering any questions you may have. After that we’ll schedule a convenient time to meet with you and your family at home for the free home care service assessment. During the assessment we talk about the custom care plan considerations like: the level of home care service you need, safety concerns, and activity and dietary likes and dislikes. Once a custom in-home care plan is agreed upon, we match your loved one with the best-suited caregiver or team of caregivers. You can read more about our process by clicking here.
When can service be scheduled?
After completing the four process steps of your home care assessment, we review with you our recommendations for your loved one’s custom in-home care plan, matching your family with the best suited caregiver. Finally we ensure safety and cleanliness needs are met and then your in-home care service begins.
What do your in-home care services cost?
In most cases we bill on an hourly basis. During the home care service assessment, we determine the hours required to provide proper home care in line with the custom in-home care plan and continuously review. We also offer packages for clients who need brief stints of assistance; wake-up and tuck-in services.
What additional charges may occur?
All service charges are completely detailed and confirmed with client and family before service begins. The only added costs on an invoice would be mileage if a caregiver runs errands for the client or personal purchases like groceries, supplies, etc.
How do in-home care costs differ from assisted living or nursing home facilities?
In most cases, our in-home care services are much more cost effective than facility costs. Families only pay for the times they need assistance. Customizing a schedule specific to you and only billed for the care services and/times needed.

For non-clients: Our office is open 8am to 5pm, and the phone is monitored 24 hours a day. If for any reason we are with a family and you need to leave a message, we will call you back within the same business day.
What happens when a caregiver is sick or cannot make a visit?
We have staff to make certain you always have a qualified caregiver for just this situation. Also, when caregivers have vacations, we provide our clients with notice and replacement information.
Can a caregiver be met in person before services begin?
Definitely! We pride ourselves on building relationships with families whom we provide in-home care and on properly matching clients and caregivers. During the home care service assessment, we discuss this relationship and make certain we take all client concerns to heart.
Tell me about your caregivers.
All of our caregivers are employees, not contractors, of Premier Custom Care. We are particular in only hiring caregivers that fit within our company principles and will be compassionate and professional while caring for your loved one. All employees are bonded and insured. After a thorough interview process, we confirm references, perform a credit check, and caregivers submit to a detailed background check with a driving record check and a proper drug screening. Our extensive ongoing screening process continues for as long as a caregiver is an employee of Premier Custom Care.
